The
Help the Homeless program raises awareness of
and funds for Washington metro area agencies
that provide critical services to the homeless
in our communities.
By walking in support of the Upper Montgomery
Assistance Network, and agency that provides
financial emergency assistance to prevent
evictions and utility disconnections, young
people become a valuable community resource,
and gain and understanding of a serious
community problem. Additionally,
young people learn the rewards of community
service while helping those in their community
who are less fortunate and in need.
Young people can participate in the Fannie Mae
Foundation's Annual Help the Homeless
Walkathon around the mall or sign up for a
youth mini-walk in their own community. |
